Tapestry - How we were influenced in our tapestry kit designs

Tapestry -Needlepoint -Kit Contents

All of our tapestry kits contain Appleton wools, a needle and Zweigart canvas which is either plain, colour printed, or with the outline of the picture drawn on. Also, where required, either a black and white symbol chart, or a colour chart is included. This information is given with the tapestry kit details when you are looking at your selected design. Each kit contains extra wool, but if you should run out for any reason, contact us and we will send you some more.

Detailed instructions on how to complete your tapestry design are included and also a narrative giving you detailed information about your design. For example, with the Maori weaving you will read about the history of the Maori and their traditions, ceremonies involved, how the colours were obtained and myths and legends attached to the particular design. We hope very much that you will enjoy needlepoint stitching, in our designs.

Tapestry Designs are inspired by kelims, carpets and tiles seen whilst travelling through Turkey. Papyrus paintings, carvings and treasures from ancient tombs provide a wealth of Tapestry inspiration. The decorative knot-work of the ancient Celts is common throughout our Tapestry collection.

Firefly Design kits are for a variety of experience levels from beginner to advanced, including stitches such as tent, and cross stitch for all our tapestry and needlepoint kits inspired by international designs.
